Regular Meeting Minutes
May 2, 2016
 
Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to the flag. Members Bob Cook, Eleanor Kilmer, Amanda Gusek, Bob Steele, and Greg Lotter were present.

Minutes from April 2, 2016 meeting were motioned for approval by Steele and seconded by Lotter, motion carried with 5 yes.

Jim McMinn had a stroke and get well cards were passed around the audience.

Public Comment:  Two minute rules for comments.

Leo Shafke questioned why he has to pay for the FOIA request. This is state law.

Ambulance:  Glenn Fox gave report. No questions.

Planning Commission:  Doug Graham has given up his position as chairman.  Travis Klimek was elected to take the position as chairman. Travis gave report, there was no questions.

Zoning Administrator:   Permits 1 dwelling, 2 pole barns and 1 addition.  

Blight Officer:  We need to keep eyes open regarding who is throwing their garbage out on the Shay Lake roadside.

Cemetery:  No report

Assessor:  No Report

Trustee:  No Report

Supervisor: Dust Control, We are going to go with Wilkinson this year. It will help us save the township some money that we can use somewhere else in the township.

We will be signing agreements for gravel from Pattison Rd to Snover Rd, about a foot to build it up; Plain Rd from Clifford Rd to Phelps Lake Rd, 3 inches or more of crushed gravel; 2,000 tons of patch gravel to include Harmon Lake Rd east of Plain Rd; Hunt Rd east of bridge pit run and crushed gravel; Pattison Rd, Mayville to Snover Rd., crushed gravel.

Treasurer: reported income of $62,523.39 and expenses of $58,169.50, for a balance on hand of $394,212.23 there is $7,017.81 in the checking. $175,924.73 in money market account and a CD face value of $211,269.6

Clerk: Invoice to be paid with the AUTO EFT and checks #7448 -#7469 in the amount of $67,200.50. After a brief explanation of said invoices it was motioned by Steele, seconded by Lotter to pay bills. Motion carried with 5 yes.

New Business:  Civil Right lawsuit filed against the township and individual board members by James Satchel, Robert Adams and Rod Merten in the United States District Court, Eastern District.

Motion to adjourn the meeting made by Steele, seconded by Lotter, motion carried and meeting was adjourned at 8:08 p.m.
