DAYTON TOWNSHIP

Regular Meeting Minutes
July 5, 2016

Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to the flag. Members Bob Cook, Eleanor Kilmer, Amanda Gusek, Bob Steele, and Greg Lotter were present.

Minutes from the June 2, 2016 meeting were motioned for approval by Steele and seconded by Lotter, motion carried with 5 yes.

Public Comment:  Gary Gibson asked when the roadside mowing was going to start. Roadside mowing starts after July 15th. 

Road commission: Jay Tuckey and Gary Parsell were present.  Don’t forget to vote on August 2nd for the Primary Road Millage Renewal, and The Local Bridge Millage Renewal.   

Ambulance:  No Report

Planning Commission:   Travis was present and gave report, there were no questions.

Zoning Administrator:
  Permits 1 dwelling, 1 pole barn.  Bob thanks everyone for keeping up their residences, looking good.  

Blight Officer:  No Report

Cemetery:  No report

Assessor:  Joan was present and gave report, there were no questions

Trustee: Bob Steele spoke about painting the Township Hall. Bob Cook has talked to Mike Flannigan and Mike offered to paint the Township Hall at no cost. Board motioned to pay him 50% percent of the cost of material for his labor.   Motioned by Steele seconded by Lotter, with a roll call vote of 5 yes. 

Supervisor:  Bob Cook spoke about the importance of the township 1 mil road millage on the August 2 ballot.  Please vote!

Treasurer: reported income of $22,741.06 and expenses of $30,406.91, for a balance on hand of $320,298.08 there is $7,795.11 in the checking. $101,233.28 in money market account and a CD face value of $211,269.69.

Clerk: Invoice to be paid with the AUTO EFT and checks#7494-#7511 in the amount of $20,244.58. After a brief explanation of said invoices it was motioned by Steele, seconded by Lotter to pay bills. Motion carried with 5 yes.

New Business:  There will be an M.T.A. Planning and Zoning Seminar in Frankenmuth on August 10th. Our township will be sending four members.

Motion to adjourn the meeting made by Steele, seconded by Lotter, motion carried and meeting was adjourned at 8:08 p.m.

Re-opened meeting at 8:09 to discuss The Right to Farm Act. The Right to Farm Act has changed. Farm animals or producers are not allowed in a residential district if there are more than 13 homes in a 1/8 mile area.
