Regular Meeting Minutes

August 3, 2020

1.Call to order with pledge to the Flag-Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm

2.Minutes of Previous Meeting – Motion to approve minutes for previous meeting made by Lotter, seconded by Steele, motion carried.

3.Public Comment – Individual commented on the roads holding up well to conditions. Bob Cook responded that the Road Commission has done a lot for us and he is very proud of them.

Planning Commission-Meeting 2 weeks away

Zoning Administrator-0 Land Divisions, 1 Dwelling Permit, 2 Pole Barn Permits-Bob Reminded public when building you must get a permit. Also, we have had issues with people running stop signs recently with many wrecks. Please stop at stop signs.

Blight Enforcement Officer-No Report

Cemetery-Walker Burial at West Dayton, also, there is a foundation at West Dayton that needs to be removed in order to do more burials. Eleanor will get quote on cost for Wayne to remove it. Bob mentioned using Clerk Shaver for help with layout plans for West Dayton.

Assessor-No Report
Trustees-Greg Lotter requested a discussion on tree trimming along our roads. Many spots in the township have trees overhanging our roads. A discussion was held about potential problem areas in the township as well as the possibility of having a company give us a quote. We are looking into what next steps might be.

5.Supervisor
Roads-On Lee Hill road we would like to add 1ft of gravel from the Hunter pit and put crushed on top with chloride. Bob got the ok to move forward with it. The Hall lot will be graded soon. The township is appreciative of Gooses Dirt works doing it for free. Also, a thank you to Bob Hunter for donating several loads of pit run for the base.
Thank You Note-Bob Read a thank you note to the township received from Mayville Community Schools, for township allowing them to place a mobile hot spot at the township hall so that students could sit in the parking lot and access the internet for remote learning.

6.Treasurer
Financial Report- Eleanor read financial report. Assets are currently $280,840.08. Board also discussed the right of first refusal on several properties. Motion to approve Greg Lotter, seconded by Bob Steele, motion carried.    

7.Clerk
Expense Report-Tony Shaver read the expense report totaling $42,873.37. We were instructed to pay the $810 check to Accident Fund Company after further clarification on weather or not we need WC insurance. Motion to pay bills made by Steele, seconded by Lotter. The Motion Carried.
Election-A discussion was held as to having security hired for November election.
