Regular Meeting Minutes
February 2, 2015


Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to the flag.  Members Bob Cook, Mike Mocniak, Eleanor Kilmer, Bob Steele and James Satchel were present
.


Minutes from the January 5, 2015 meeting were motioned for approval by Steele and seconded by Mocniak.  The motion carried.


Public Comment: Mr. Cook opened public comment by informing those present that township residents Dave Harp and RJ Gilmore were both very ill and circulated get well cards for them. He also stated that there was a 2 minute limit to public comment unless otherwise approved by the board and asked Glenn Fox to keep time. Robert Adams expressed concern about the garbage pickup charges and Rod Merten presented concerns about the garbage bill, blight, and the budget. Richard Horsch asked the board for 5 minutes of presentation time, which the board approved. He expressed his disgust over the way Satchel had treated resident Joe Peet and Joe’s family. He also stated that he had checked with county building code authority on the legality of how the Peet property issue had been handled and that he was assured everything was done properly, contrary to Satchel’s previous accusations. Greg Chorba spoke briefly about his concern over Satchel’s conduct and treatment of township residents and asked Satchel for his resignation.


Commissioner: Christine Trisch presented information supporting the upcoming millages for veterans services and the Economic Development Commission.


Ambulance: No report this month.


Mayville Library: No report this month.


Planning Commission:  Doug Graham stated that the PC is in the process of compiling the results of the survey and reminded those present that the EDC will do our master plan for free if the upcoming EDC millage passes.


Zoning administrator/ Blight officer:  Mr Cook stated that one resident agreed to a demolition of a blighted structure and that he issued one blight violation.  He also stated that he had done three land divisions and issued one building permit in the past month.


Cemetery:
Mrs. Kilmer reported that the cemetery purchase has been completed at a cost of $5350 and that lots cannot be sold until the addition is platted.


Supervisor: Mr Cook read letters that he had received from Mike Urban and Mike Mocniak complaining about the actions of trustee Satchel, and from resident Travis Klimek complaining about the actions of trustee Satchel and resident Robert Adams.


Trustee: Satchel requested 10 minutes to give a rebuttal to the censure letter that he received. Shortly after 10 minutes he was asked by Mr. Cook to wrap up his speech in order to move the meeting along, to which Satchel replied that he was an official and didn’t have a time limit. Satchel then accused Mr. Mocniak of trying to hide financial information and stated that Mike had charged the township for 300 miles to and from Mayville the past month. Mike replied that financial information is available at every meeting and that no one has requested additional copies of the financial report. Mike also stated that Satchel had reviewed Mike’s reimbursement form prior to the meeting and lied about the mileage. Mike then asked Satchel three times if he would resign if Mike could show the form and prove that Satchel was lying. Satchel refused to reply.  


Mr. Cook then called for order and requested a motion to approve the payment of the submitted bills. Motion was made by Mr Steele, seconded by Mrs Kilmer, and passed.


Mr Cook then asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Motion to adjourn was made by Mr Steele, seconded by Mr Mocniak, and passed.


Meeting was adjourned at 8:41 pm.
