Proposed Meeting Minutes

October 7, 2019

1.Call to order with pledge to the Flag-Meeting was called to order at 7:04 pm

2.Minutes of Previous Meeting – Motion to approve minutes for previous meeting made by Steele, seconded by Lotter, motion carried.

3.Public Comment –

25 letters were presented to Bob related to structures around Shay Lake that need to be removed. A lengthy discussion was held explaining the difficulty the township would have enforcing the removals and being successful. Recommendation that the Shay Lake Association see what steps they can take against the properties in question in order to assist the township.

4.Reports

County Commissioner-An update was given on the approved state budget. The Caro Center was in the approved budget but the county was targeted and many important items were vetoed such as $15million for inmates housing, $13million for rural sheriff etc.

Library – Mayville-No report
Planning Commission-Travis Reported on last meeting discussed Article 10 related to hall having a map to display for public. Bob might have one that can be used. MTA will assist with exotic pets.
Zoning Administrator-1 Land Divisions, 1 Dwelling Permit, 4 Permits
Blight Enforcement Officer-No further discussion
Cemetery-No Burials

Trustees-No Report

5.Supervisor

Roads-The gravel is done, we were able to get more gravel than we thought. Wilkinson did a good job with dust control. Shay Lake will not be getting paved this year due to the wing walls moving on the new bridge, they are trying to sort out who is going to fix the wing walls but none of it is the township’s responsibility.  Bridge is sound.  
Planning Commission Applicants-2 Applications were received for the planning commission. Nancy Shaver was recommended to the board by Bob Cook. Motion to accept Nancy Shaver as the new Planning commission member was made by Bob Steele and seconded by Greg Lotter. Motion Carried.   

6.Treasurer

Financial Report- Eleanor read financial report.   

7.Clerk

Expense Report-Tony read the expense report totaling $24,604.55. Motion to pay bills made by Steele, seconded by Lotter. The Motion Carried.  
Waste Management cost will increase to $192.97 for FY2020. Motion to increase the garbage fee on tax bill to $193 per year was made by Greg Lotter, seconded by Bob Steele. There was a roll call vote Greg Lotter-yes, Bob Steele-yes, Eleanor Kilmer-yes, Tony Shaver-yes, Bob Cook-yes. The Motion Carried.
